Move Inspection Records to a New Android Phone
Moving to a new phone involves two separate checks: the app's purchase entitlement and the inspection data. A recognised Pro purchase does not bring your projects back, and restoring a backup does not replace checking the correct Google Play account.

Prepare the old device before changing anything
Create a fresh Site Audit backup and save an accessible copy outside the old phone. Keep the issued PDF reports separately because generated reports are not included in the working-data backup. Check that the backup file exists at the destination you intend to use.
Do not erase, uninstall or retire the old phone yet. Keep it available until you have verified the restored records and exported a usable report on the replacement. If you cannot access the old device, a previously saved backup is the recovery source; the app has no automatic cloud project copy.
Prepare the destination carefully
Install the app on a compatible Android device. If you use Pro, check the Google Play account associated with the purchase and confirm the entitlement while connected. The app's purchase recognition is separate from transferring its on-device database and photos.
Restoring a backup replaces the destination app's current records; it does not merge projects. If the new device already holds useful work, preserve it before proceeding and resolve how those records will be handled. Do not assume a restore can selectively combine two inspectors' jobs.
Verify the restored content
- Open several projects, including an older one and a recent one.
- Inspect descriptions, locations and current statuses.
- Open original and annotated photos and read their captions.
- Check report profiles and logo details where used.
- Generate and open a test PDF with representative images.
- Confirm the separately saved issued PDFs remain accessible.
If the backup came from a newer app version, update the destination app before trying again. Do not repeatedly restore different backups over useful destination data without understanding which copy is current.
Finish the change of device
Once the checks pass, create a new backup from the replacement and retain the transfer files according to your record process. Only then consider retiring the old device through your normal data-handling arrangements.
If Pro is not recognised, use the support page and check the purchase account rather than buying again immediately. For the backup mechanics and included data, read backup and restore. For using a phone and tablet together, remember that device workflows do not provide automatic synchronisation.
